Ostheimer has recreated the beautiful princess from the Brothers Grimm story, The Frog King. She has long blonde hair, a beige dress with pink shawl, pink slippers, and a golden crown. In her hands she holds the golden ball that led to her meeting the frog.
This gorgeous, handcrafted timber toy stands at 13cm tall. This natural wooden figurine is tactile and beautiful in the hand.
All Ostheimer Wooden Toys are traced by hand in Germany onto natural, native hardwood (maple, elm, or ash), before being cut and sanded and then finished off by hand with up to six coats of non-toxic, water-soluble, transparent colour that is designed to show the beautiful woodgrain beneath. The soft edges of each toy are a hallmark of Ostheimer and what makes them just so lovely to play with. All Ostheimer toys meet the European and international safety standards and the European NORM EN 71 for toys.
As each Ostheimer wooden toy is created and finished by hand, they vary slightly in terms of shape, colouring, and the amount of woodgrain or knots showing through the colouring. Each piece is perfectly unique.
