The lovely NOM Handcrafted Platypus wooden toy features gorgeous two-toned handpainting, with a milk chocolate brown body offset by deep brown feet, tail, and bill.

Each NOM Handcrafted wooden animal, tree, and landscape toy is made from sustainably and ethically sourced hard maple wood right here in Australia.

Arguably the most unique of Australia's many and varied creatures, the shy Platypus is a semi-aquatic monotreme, laying eggs instead of birthing live young. It features a duck-like bill, a beaver-like tail, and otter-like webbed feet, and its body is covered in soft brown fur. The Platypus can be found in eastern Australia, including Tasmania.

Being handcrafted, each of NOM Handcrafted's beautiful offerings is unique, with slightly different shaping, size, wood markings, grain, and knots showing through any dye or paint finishes, which themselves might vary slightly in colour or application.
